DVT / Blood Clots

In these conditions, blood clot occurs in deep veins and are hence called Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT).
This is a life-threatening condition and leads to Pulmonary Embolism (Lung Attack).
Impure blood from leg and arm veins drains into the lungs and then to the heart when clots are fresh there is a very high risk of clots going to the lungs and can lead to sudden death.
When initiated early treatment this incidence reduces.
These can be treated with Medication( Anticoagulation) and in some cases Clot bluster {Thrombolysis/Catheter Directed Thrombolysis ( CDT)} medicines to dissolve clots and prevent migration to the lungs.
Sometimes we have to put an umbrella shape net (IVC Filter) to prevent a clot from traveling to the lungs to save a life.
