- DVT / Blood Clots
- In these conditions, blood clot occurs in deep veins and are hence called Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT).
- This is a life-threatening condition and leads to Pulmonary Embolism (Lung Attack).
- Impure blood from leg and arm veins drains into the lungs and then to the heart when clots are fresh there is a very high risk of clots going to the lungs and can lead to sudden death.
- When initiated early treatment this incidence reduces.
- These can be treated with Medication( Anticoagulation) and in some cases Clot bluster {Thrombolysis/Catheter Directed Thrombolysis ( CDT)} medicines to dissolve clots and prevent migration to the lungs.
- Sometimes we have to put an umbrella shape net (IVC Filter) to prevent a clot from traveling to the lungs to save a life.
